Any 3 of 5 overlap any other 3 of 5: arithmetic, always true
The write quorum and the read quorum share at least one node
That shared node is the only bridge versions can cross

What carries freshness

Versions ride on writes; the read takes the maximum it finds
No wall clock is read anywhere in this figure
Read repair can push the max back out; plain reads only observe

What the bridge assumes

The bridge node must still hold what it acknowledged
The ACK set must equal the durable set
Both quorums must come from the same membership
